Untouchable Flame, a hundred and eighty page memoir, is an inspiring, true-life journey. It tells the story of a young girl born on the West Side of Chicago, who was often left by her parents, along with her siblings, in a dark, cold, rat-infested basement without food and proper clothing for weeks at a time, waiting for their mother to return from her drug induced gambits to care for them. Terrified by the nightly visits from two of her relatives, who began molesting her at the age of seven, this young girl was forced to turn to the only person she could trust her poor, disabled grandmother, who despite her lack of education and advantages, taught the children in her care how to pray and believe in God.
The children's faith in God was sorely tested when a tragedy happened, killing both her grandmother and step-grandfather. With no one to confide in, and traumatized by the tragic death of her grandparents, the author and her five siblings were placed into different foster homes, shelters, and group homes over the course of eighteen years.
Untouchable Flame was written to touch the lives of thousands of people, who may have experienced the same kind of pain, and and help them gain strength through the example of someone who was able to overcome great odds and eventually receive and education that allowed her to share her story.

This was a wonderful book. I have known Kemisha for over a year now and would have never guessed that this was her life story. She is always so kind and has such a positive attitude.She is definitely an inspiration. This not only a great book for those going through the foster care system, but for all of us just living life. I totally love this book. It is very inspiring to let someone know if you have been through this there is hope at the end of the tunnel. It also to let you know that when we go through trials God will bring us out. I'm glad God did it for Kemisha Swan surely He will deliver others. Hallelujah God is good!!! NECA

The book was very therapeutic for people familiar with the struggles in being a part of the foster care system. The young lady was able to get past the stagmitism and move toward her goal of being proud of herself and how far she had come.
